Pennsylvania angst
Election Day 7:18 p.m.
The presidential race in Pennsylvania is still too close to call as of 7:18 p.m. “I’m utterly terrified,” said Casper Eichman, a third-year University of Oregon student closely following the election. He believes Pennsylvania could determine the outcome. “It’s looking like we’re going to lose Georgia and North Carolina, so Pennsylvania’s votes are massive,” said Eichman.
Yet, Eichman remains hopeful. “I remember in the 2020 election, Trump led Pennsylvania for a majority of the time,” Eichman said. “There’s still lots of time left.”

A no election zone
Election Day 5:32 p.m.
The bar was empty, pop music was blaring, and the TVs were showing a replay of a college football game. None of the TVs showed any 2024 election coverage at The O Bar & Grill in Eugene on election night. The bartender, Seven (like the number), displayed disdain for the election process and refused to change the TVs when asked.“This is a sports bar. No politics here.” Seven, a veteran who refused to vote in this election, said. “My vote has never mattered in Oregon. Whatever happens, happens.” He would have voted if he lived in a swing state, he said.
